Botanical Description
Known locally as Bungang Dakigan (Pinanga philippinensis) is a clustering palm that can be as much as 3 meters tall in height. Its crownshaft’s color two-toned it being green-purple and pale yellow. Its leaves are pinnate with a delicate appearance due to its fine leaves. Capable of tolerating much colder conditions compared to other members of the same genus. Flowers are borne on panicles, eventually giving way to a drupe that is initially white but becomes white, then pink, and finally red.
