Code of Discipline

Body

Educating Ateneans and forming them to become men and women for others is a mission shared by all members of the Ateneo de Manila University.

Each community member, regardless of position and rank, plays an important role in promoting an environment rooted in the Ignatian values of cura personalis and magis.

The Code of Discipline (COD) presents a set of guidelines, systems, and principles that underpin all of the university’s work. It is meant to provide guidance about the way employees should work and the effects of their behavior on persons and the community. Departing from the prescribed guidelines would correspond to consequences that are intended to correct behavior and/or improve performance. The COD is written with the welfare of every University employee in mind. It is an expression of the University’s commitment to fairness and justice.

All University employees have the responsibility to adhere to these principles to not only promote a positive working environment but also be each other’s collaborators in this shared mission that is the Ateneo de Manila University.

The implementation of the COD takes effect on 1 February 2019.

Questions about the COD may be addressed to the Office of Human Resource Management and Organization Development.
