The Campus Safety and Mobility Office (CSMO) was created under the Vice President for Administration in September 2014 in view of the growing importance of safety and security in the Ateneo campuses (Loyola Heights, ASMPH, Rockwell, and Salcedo), and taking into account the Ateneo Traffic Group recommendation to establish a centralized authority on traffic management.

The administration of the Ateneo de Manila University mandated that the CSMO should coordinate closely with the Facilities Management Office, and have the following responsibilities:

• Communicate, enforce and develop programs for the proper management of campus safety and mobility (both pedestrian and vehicular)
• Oversee and manage campus security in coordination with the security agency outsourced by the University
• Serve as the University’s conduit to government and external agencies on matters concerning campus safety, security and welfare
• Ensure the University’s compliance with government-mandated environmental safety and occupational health & safety requirements.
