Applying to ASHS
Things to Consider Before Application
Before starting the application process, the applicant must ensure that
- He/She is applying for Grade 11 SY 2026-2027. (The Ateneo de Manila Senior High School does not accept Grade 12 transfer applicants.)
- The applicant is part of his/her school’s Grade 10 batch at the time of application, or has completed Grade 10 as long as he/she is not currently enrolled in Grade 11.
- He/She must not have applied for Grade 11 in Ateneo de Manila Senior High School prior to this application.
- He/She is committed to following the instructions for the online process and completing the online application before the deadline.
- He/She is committed to traveling to the Ateneo de Manila Senior High School campus in Quezon City in order to take the A-SHAPE on January 10 or 11, 2026, or on February 7, 2026 (second batch). Note that there is no online test nor are there provincial or international testing centers.
Students currently enrolled in Grade 10 in schools based abroad may proceed with the application only if they can commit to taking the A-SHAPE in Quezon City on January 10 or 11, 2026 or February 7, 2026 (second batch). Those enrolled in schools abroad who are interested in applying but cannot travel to Quezon City in time for the January 10 and 11 or February 7, 2026 (second batch) exam must not proceed with the regular application process. Instead, they must signify their interest by filling up this consultation form: consultation form link. The ASHS Office of Admission and Scholarships will communicate with them via email regarding possible alternative arrangements.
Requirements
Before filling out the online application form, the applicant must prepare the following:
- A scanned copy (in PDF format) of the applicant’s birth certificate - Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) or National Statistics Office (NSO) issued birth certificate or the birth certificate issued by the applicant's country of origin. If the applicant's birth certificate is written in a language other than English, then provide a certificate of English Translation as an attachment. A Civil Registry copy of the birth certificate will not be accepted.
- If the applicant is NOT a Filipino citizen: a scanned copy of the valid passport bio page and a copy of the valid Philippine visa (both stamp/sticker and/or the ACR-I Card issued by the Philippine Government)- These documents must be scanned as one PDF file only.
- If the applicant has dual citizenship, a PDF copy of at least one of the following documents: the applicant’s valid Philippine passport, certificate of recognition as a Filipino citizen, certificate of re-acquisition of Filipino citizenship or certificate of naturalization.
-
An image file (PNG, JPG/JPEG) of a recent ID picture of the applicant- The picture must be colored with a white background, with only the head and shoulders visible in the picture, as shown here.

- A scanned copy (in PDF format) of the applicant’s final, completed Grade 8 report card (all parts/pages).
- A scanned copy (in PDF format) of the applicant’s final, completed Grade 9 report card (all parts/pages).
- A scanned copy (in PDF format) of the applicant’s report card for the first grading period of Grade 10. If this is not yet available, it may be uploaded later, as long as it is uploaded before January 31, 2026.
- For all report cards: All pages of the report card and all information in the report card must be clearly visible in the scanned copy. This includes information such as the name of the school, the name of the student, the student's grade level and school year, all grades, deportment ratings, the school administrator's certification, and the explanation of grade equivalents. Both the front and back pages, any pages showing the grading scale or teacher comments, and all other sections forming part of the official report card must be included. The scanned copy must be clear, readable, and unaltered to ensure that all grades, remarks, and official school information are visible. If the report card consists of multiple pages, these must be compiled into a single PDF file before submission.
- If the applicant does not have copies of their Grade 8 and 9 Report Cards, they may instead submit a scanned copy of their Junior High School Permanent Academic Record School Form 10 (SF 10) - previously known as Form 137 or F-137 - or their Junior High School Transcript of Records (TOR). All parts and pages of the SF10 or Transcript of Records must be scanned and uploaded. This includes all sections containing the student's personal information (e.g. full name, school name, grade levels attended, and school years covered), all grades for each grading period, remarks or comments from teachers, explanations of grading scales, certifications of signatures from school officials, and any other relevant academic information. The scanned file must be clear, readable, and unaltered, ensuring that all information is visible. If the document is composed of multiple pages, these must be compiled into a single PDF file before submission.
- If the applicant's report cards or Permanent Academic Record are written in a language other than English, they must request an official English translation from their current school. In certain cases, a course description may also be required. This is not required unless specifically requested by the Office of Admission and Scholarships for submission.
- A PDF copy of the applicant’s autobiography, which must be typewritten, A4 page size, 1-2 pages only, using any readable font- The autobiography should touch on the following points: interests, career plans, accomplishments, and the reasons that the applicant desires a senior high school education at the Ateneo de Manila University.
- Each applicant must also choose 2 teachers who have taught the applicant in grade 8, 9 or 10, know the applicant well and are willing to recommend the applicant. The applicant must ensure that the chosen teachers agree to fill up an online application form. The applicant must obtain the valid email address and contact number (official school contact information or personal contact information) of the teacher and must ensure that the contact information is correct. Incorrect information will lead to problems in the application process. The recommendation form link will be emailed directly to the teacher and will not pass through the applicant.
- Parent's Consent Form- Download the form here. After asking the applicant's parent to review the content of the application form, the applicant should have the parent sign the consent form and save the signed form as a new PDF file in preparation for uploading it in the admission system.
- Application fee of P 750.
Online Application Overview
The applicant needs to take the following steps:
- STEP 1: ACCOUNT CREATION AND GENERATION OF PAYMENT REFERENCE NUMBER
To apply for Ateneo Senior High School for SY 2026–2027, applicants must first create an account in the online admissions system and generate a payment reference number. Please note that account creation is only considered complete once the payment reference number has been generated. - STEP 2: FOR PAYMENT STAGE
The application fee is Php 750, which may be paid through Paybiz (GCash, GrabPay, or online bank transfers with BPI, BDO, UnionBank, PNB, or RCBC) or WebPay (Visa or MasterCard debit or credit cards). Payments at the Ateneo campus cashier are not accepted. After payment, applicants need to wait for confirmation and posting into their admission account. This usually takes three to five working days from September to October, or five to seven working days in November (peak season). - STEP 3: DRAFT STAGE
Once the payment has been confirmed and is uploaded to the admission application account of the applicant, the applicant can proceed to complete the online application form, which is initially marked as “Draft.” The form requires the email addresses and contact numbers of two teacher-recommenders, which will automatically trigger an email invitation for them to submit their recommendation. Applicants must also upload a recent photo in JPG or PNG format and submit all required documents in PDF. - STEP 4: FOR REVIEW STAGE
When the form is ready and is submitted by the applicant, it should be submitted for review. At this stage, Ateneo will check the application to ensure that all information and requirements are correct and complete. - STEP 5: RETURN TO APPLICANT STAGE
If the form is incomplete, it will be returned with comments for correction under the status “Return to Applicant.” Once corrected and resubmitted by the applicant, the form may be reviewed again. Kindly note that it is normal for an application to be in the Return to Applicant stage multiple times, since admission checkers may find several parts that need to be thoroughly corrected. - STEP 6: FOR RECOMMENDATION STAGE
If the form is complete, it will advance to the “For Recommendation” stage. Applicants should then follow up with their chosen recommenders to ensure that the recommendation forms are already accomplished and submitted online. If there are errors in the recommendation form responses received, the admission checkers will advise the applicant to reassign another recommender for an alternate recommendation response. - STEP 7: FOR EXAMINATION STAGE
After receiving the 2 recommendation letters, the application will be elevated to the For Examination stage. The applicant must select an exam schedule through the system and print the exam permit, which will also be sent to their official notification email. Applicants will receive automated emails from EduSuite each time their application progresses to the next stage. - It is important to note that only applicants with an exam permit may take the Ateneo Senior High Admissions and Placement Exam (A-SHAPE). Those without a permit, even if they reach the “For Examination” stage, will not be allowed to sit for the exam. Finally, only students who take the A-SHAPE will be considered for Grade 11 admission for School Year 2026–2027.
Step-by-Step Application and Payment Guides
It is the applicant’s responsibility to monitor his/her application and move it forward. In order to do this he/she must make the effort to read and follow the instructions of the online process. To assist the applicant, detailed, step-by-step guides to the application process are provided.
Please click on the buttons below to access the downloadable guides for navigating the application system. Applicants are advised to refer to these instructions as they accomplish each step in the process.
All applicants are also advised to download the instructions for payment of the Application Fee through their chosen payment channel. Please click on the links below to access the downloadable guides for the different payment channels.

Parent's Consent Form
Note that although each step in the application process can be completed in a few minutes, the whole process will take several days (5 days at the very least) to complete because of the waiting time for the payment to be received by Ateneo’s online system (3-5 working days), for the form to be reviewed by Ateneo’s checkers (1-2 days, depending on the queue of forms to be reviewed), and for the recommenders to fill up and send their recommendation forms to Ateneo.
We advise all of those who intend to apply to start the process as soon as possible. The first step (creating an account and generating a payment ID number) only takes 10-20 minutes.
