We develop managers who are ready for tomorrow

Body
The John Gokongwei School of Management is about generating innovation, developing strategies, and founding organizations that positively impact individuals, society, and the planet. It is in the business of teaching those who envision themselves mobilizing resources, taking calculated risks, and disrupting markets. We produce research that answers questions on how organizations can promote sustainable development and inclusive economic growth. In line with the Jesuit tradition, we aspire to produce entrepreneurs and business leaders for others.

The mission of JGSOM is to shape our students into innovators who can respond to the needs of tomorrow’s world. We make it our mission to make students that are:

1. Global in perspective, interdisciplinary in approach, and technically proficient;
2. Guided by a strong set of core values, able to provide ethical and principle-centered leadership; and

Through the SOM Business Accelerator (SOMBA), students go through a structured enterprise development program designed to grow their early stage businesses. SOMBA provides students with the necessary resources such as office space, mentorship, access to industry experts, and networking opportunities to support students in translating their ideas into viable businesses. The process includes stages like ideation, business planning, prototype development, market testing, fundraising, and launch.

Ateneo de Manila University boasts of having the Philippines’ largest student mobility program with 80 plus foreign universities. JGSOM through the Junior Term Abroad program (JTA) sends the most number of students averaging about 150 per year. Students have spent a semester in universities in Australia, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore, and the US among others.
