Tagpuan Ateneo

Center for Dialogue, Research, and Collaboration

About Tagpuan

Tagpuan Ateneo Center for Dialogue, Research, and Collaboration (Tagpuan Ateneo) was established in July of 2023 following its approval by the Board of Trustees the year prior. It was given the objective: “Committed collective action to solve ‘wicked problems’ by transcending cultural differences across social, economic, political, and other divides.”

Tagpuan Ateneo is the Magis Aspiration under the Bridging Cultural Divides strategic priority area. Since its establishment, under the leadership of its Director Dr Jose Jowel P Canuday, Tagpuan Ateneo has set up its organization structure, conducted and participated in numerous consultations and meetings with key internal and external partners, and produced approaches and techniques for dialogues and collaborative action.

Tagpuan Ateneo aims to produce knowledge in understanding, taking action, and designing solutions to societal divisions; and to raise the capacities of Ateneo de Manila University and its stakeholders to conceptualize, lead, and facilitate dialogue designed to:

  • Convene high-level/critically important conversations to find common ground and pursue shared solutions and common actions; and
  • Influence internal and external stakeholders and communities.

Tagpuan Ateneo is envisioned to help advance Pope Francis’ Fratelli Tutti/Culture of Encounter within and outside of university spaces through the creation of dialogue tools, knowledge, and networks.

Tagpuan Ateneo also supports the Campus Mobility Forum through campus walk/biking and photovoice dialogues, multi-stakeholders' conversations, and a participatory future making workshop on campus mobility issues.
