Drone Policy

Campus Drone Policy
To ensure the protection of the campus and the community from accidental harm and in compliance with the data privacy policy, use of drones on campus will only be allowed subject to the following conditions:
- Only drones that weigh below 7 kgs will be allowed to fly on campus.
- A drone registration form must be accomplished and submitted to the Campus Safety and Mobility Office prior to the scheduled operation.
- The requestor must submit the specification and photos of the drone.
- For photo/video shoot purposes, approval of the University Marketing and Communications Office must be secured.
- Approval must also be secured from the location owner (e.g. CFMO for Bellarmine Field).
- Drones are not allowed to fly above or near the following buildings:
- University Residence Halls
- Jesuit Residence
- Loyola House of Studies
- East Asian Pastoral Institute
- San Jose Seminary
Upon completion of all requirements, use of the drone will be subject to the approval of the Director of the Campus Safety and Mobility Office.
