To be eligible to apply as a transfer student, the applicant must be taking the regular load requirement per semester and must have finished at least one full school semester in the college or university where the student is currently enrolled.

Subjects taken from the previous school are credited upon the applicant's passing of the validation exams given by the departments concerned. Not more than one third of the units earned from the previous college/university may be validated. Please also take note of additional requirements if you are an international student.

Ateneo de Manila University introduces undergraduate students to fields of specialization in which they pursue, in greater attention, one particular area of knowledge suited to their individual talents and goals. It seeks therefore to build an intellectual tradition within the specific context of the developing nation.

  • must be taking the regular load requirement per semester and must have finished at least one full semester in the college or university he or she is enrolled in by the time the application requirements are submitted
  • must NOT have finished an undergraduate degree in any college or university before and/or during the application period
  • must NOT have been a college student of or should not have been previously enrolled in Ateneo de Manila University

Application Procedure

All transfer applications for the School Year 2026-2027 will be submitted online. Before starting your application, review your degree program and scholarship options carefully.

Application Form and Required Documents

Apply via the Application Portal. Fill out the appropriate application form and upload your supporting documents.

Supporting Documents for Uploading

  • PDF copy of payment slip or transaction receipt as proof of payment of application fee (see Application Fee Payment)
  • Image copy of clear and recent 1x1 ID picture
  • PDF copy of Birth Certificate (PSA or NSO copy or its equivalent abroad)
  • PDF copy of Transcript of Records/Grades in College/University
  • Additional documentation, if applicable (ex. SAT results, among others)
  • If non-Filipino citizen:
    - PDF copy of valid passports (bio pages)
    - PDF copy of current Philippine visas, if available
    - PDF copy of ACR I-Cards, if available
  • If dual-citizen, any of the following:
    - PDF copy of valid Philippine passport
    - PDF copy of Certificate of Recognition as Filipino Citizen
    - PDF copy of Certificate of Naturalization
    - PDF copy of Certificate of Re-Acquisition of Citizenship
  • Personal Essay (Choose at least one significant experience or accomplishment that has helped define you as a person.; limit: 750 words)
  • Two Recommendation Forms

Application Fee

The application fee is Php 600 for local applicants and Php 2,500 for international applicants. There are various methods of payment available; choose the most convenient method for you. Once payment is made, please save your proof of payment (payment slip/email/receipt) as it is part of the requirements for application.

Scholarship Application

If applying for financial aid, fill out and submit the Financial Aid Questionnaire and the required supporting documents.

Completion and Submission of Application

Take note that the deadline for the Ateneo College Entrance Test (ACET) registration (or the submission of SAT scores, for international transfer applicants) is on December 12, 2025. You may complete your transfer application until March 2026.

Decision

Application results will be released by May 2026, via email.


Once Admitted

Courses taken from the transfer student's previous institution can be validated and credited towards the student's Ateneo degree.

The total number of units that may be credited from one’s previous school shall not exceed thirty percent (30%) of the total number of academic units required in the program the student is taking in Ateneo.

Full guidelines are issued by the office for Academic Affairs under the Assistant Vice President for Undergraduate Education.

 

Note: If an applicant is found to be misrepresenting or falsifying a document/s, their application will be rejected or their acceptance will be withdrawn.
