Muntadas in Conversation with Angel Velasco Shaw
From November 2021 to March 2022, the AAG mounted the exhibition Muntadas: Exercises on Past and Present Memories, featuring renowned conceptual artist Antoni Muntadas. This exhibition was the first exhibition of Muntadas in Manila, in collaboration with the Ateneo Art Gallery, where he used the Manila Galleon trade as a framework to present various historical, political, social, and cultural narratives of our country and of Spain.
Learn more about the exhibition as Muntadas (joining via Zoom from Barcelona) shares his creative process and insights on the project in this conversation with visual artist, curator, and educator Angel Velasco Shaw (joining via Zoom from New York). The conversation marks the launch of the exhibition catalog.
The exhibit's iteration is currently on view at the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo de Sevilla (CAAC) and will run until 4 September 2022. Learn more about the CAAC exhibition here.
AAG will be remounting the same exhibition in March 2023.
This event is presented by the Ateneo Art Gallery in collaboration with the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo de Sevilla (CAAC), with support from the Embassy of Spain in the Philippines.
