ASPIRE Online Health Research Training
The ASMPH Programs for Innovation & Research (ASPIRE) is a research training program implemented through a combination of asynchronous online lectures, synchronous Q&A and activities, writeshops, and mentoring sessions and plenaries delivered virtually.
This multi-week program will cover key competencies across the research process, including:
Week 1: Introduction to Health Research; Research Questions and Objectives
Week 2: Study variables; Literature search and review; Conceptual frameworks in health research
Week 3: Study populations, sampling, and sample size determination; Design and analysis of cross-sectional studies
Week 4: Qualitative Study Designs and Analysis; Mixed-methods Studies
Week 5: Design and analysis of cohort and case-control studies
Week 6: Evidence synthesis
Week 7: Data collection and design of data collection forms; Analysis of quantitative data
Week 8: Research and grant management; Research dissemination
Participants will gain practical knowledge from experts and develop the methodological skills needed to design, conduct, and manage rigorous health research.
