[AGS] World Mission Week
This year, Pope Francis invites us to be one with him in dreaming of a Missionary Church. Just as the Risen Lord sent His disciples to proclaim the Good News to the world, He also tells us, “You shall be my witnesses.” which is the central theme for this year’s World Mission Sunday that we will celebrate on October 23, 2022.
On World Mission Sunday, we join our Holy Father in supporting his missions. As we pray and respond at home, we share in those celebrations occurring in every parish and school worldwide. Through our prayers and financial support, we walk together and bring the Lord’s mercy and concrete help to the most vulnerable communities in the Pope’s missions.
In a world where so many things divide us, World Mission Sunday rejoices in our unity as missionaries through our Baptism, as it offers each one of us an opportunity to support the life-giving presence of the Church among the poor and marginalized in more than 1,150 mission dioceses.
