Problem-Solving Enrichment and Training (ProbSET) Program Launch
Problem-Solving Enrichment and Training (ProbSET) is a hybrid outreach and extension program that aims to build and bring together communities of educators and students passionate about nation-building through problem-solving. It is conceptualized and spearheaded by the Department of Mathematics of the Ateneo de Manila University in collaboration with participating State Universities/Colleges (SUCs) and select Department of Education (Dep Ed) divisions all around the country.
ProbSET offers training sessions on problem-solving for teachers in the Philippines. We are extending the offer of four (4) online sessions of ProbSET A to teachers outside of the partner institutions, teaching in the Philippines. The registration fee is Php 2,000 for 4 sessions to be conducted via Zoom. For ProbSET SY 2023-2024, 2e are proud to introduce our partner institutions-- Central Luzon State University, Southern Luzon State University, West Visayas State University, Science and Technology University, Department of Education, Division of Ormoc City, and Department of Education, Division of Davao de Oro. Join us for the official program launch on Saturday, July 22, 2023, 10:00 am - 12:00 nn which features world-renowned problem-solving coach, Professor Po-Shen Loh who will give a short talk. Prof Po-Shen Loh is the coach of the US team for the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). Fr. Bienvenido F. Nebres, SJ, national scientist and former president of the Ateneo de Manila University, will also join us at the event to talk about the origins of ProbSET and its advocacy. Finally, the program launch will also include an introduction of all partner institutions and a ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement.
