Celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival with Regional Chinese Food
Celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival with Regional Chinese Food
ABSTRACT:
Food is indispensable in Chinese festivals which are celebrated with typical food crops found in each region. Mid-Autumn Festival is the second most well-celebrated festival customarily eaten with mooncakes that are shared with family and friends on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month. China’s regional cuisines, each with its characteristics and specialties add more flavor and diversity in the Mid-autumn celebration as expressed in the variety of taste and textures of mooncakes. Celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival with regional Chinese food can be a fun and delicious way to enjoy the festival and appreciate the diversity of Chinese cuisine.
