Special Lecture: On Ireland's value and story within the EU

The European Studies Program is hosting a special lecture by Professor Brigid Laffan on 17 November 2023 at Faber Hall 302 from 3:30 - 5:00 PM.
Prof Laffan is Emeritus Professor at the European University Institute. She was Director and Professor at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies and Director of the Global Governance Programme and the European Governance and Politics Programme at the European University Institute (EUI), Florence until her retirement in August 2021. Her expertise includes EU politics and governance and Brexit. She has immensely contributed to the advancement of European Studies. In 2014, she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the University Association for Contemporary European Studies.
Professor Laffan is visiting as part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Ireland's membership in the European Union.
