Puccini at 100: Double Bill Opera at Areté
Watch PUCCINI at 100 | DOUBLE BILL OPERA at Areté
Featuring Giacomo Puccini's "Suor Angelica" and "Gianni Schicchi" as performed by the Manila Symphony Orchestra
The Manila Symphony Orchestra Foundation, supported by the Embassy of Italy in the Philippines, celebrates the centennial anniversary of the great Italian Opera composer Giacomo Puccini with a Puccini Double Bill Opera: Suor Angelica & Gianni Schicchi.
Both one-act operas are part of Puccini's Il Trittico, a sentimental tale spanning the tragic, the lyric, and the comic, and one of the most expansive undertakings for any opera company.
These two Giacomo Puccini masterpieces feature opera’s power couple - Rachelle Gerodias (Soprano) as Suor Angelica and Byeong In Park (Baritone) as Gianni Schicci, together with the Manila Symphony Orchestra under the tutelage of Maestro Marlon Chen.
Performances will take place at Areté's Hyundai Hall on the following dates:
March 16, 7:00PM
March 17, 4:30pm
