Women Watch: Theory on and Practice of Women in Politics
The Department of Political Science together with the Asia-Pacific Centre for the Responsibility to Protect - Philippine Office (APRtoP-PO), the University Gender and Development Office (UGDO), and the Women and Gender Studies Association of the Philippines (WSAP) invites you to “Women Watch: Theory on and Practice of Women in Politics”, a space for women to share experiences and insights on how they navigate, struggle, and negotiate different and intersecting political spaces, be it formal or informal, mainstream or marginalized. As part of the Women’s Month celebration, this activity seeks to contribute to discussions on “Investing in Inclusivity: Power of Women Visionaries, Change Makers, and Disruptors.”
As an inaugural activity that forms part of a series of discussions, it shall bring together women who prominently figure in national and local governance as well as movements in the form of praxis sharing combined with scholarly reflections from women political scientists. The activity shall also provide an opportunity to discuss women and politics from the vantage point and experiences of young women leaders and feminists and how they envision transformative change in politics. This offers invaluable insights and inspiration for those aspiring to advocate for gender equality and social justice.
The discussion will be held on 19 March 2024, Tuesday, from 9:30 AM to 11:15 AM. We regret to inform you that registration for this event is now closed. However, we invite you to join us virtually via the live stream link: www.ateneo.edu/live.
