You are cordially invited to the Twenty-fourth Jaime V Ongpin Annual Memorial Lecture on Public Service in Business and Government by Dr Maria Mercedes “Didith” T Rodrigo, Professor at Ateneo de Manila and Head of the Ateneo Laboratory for the Learning Sciences. Dr Didith’s lecture, Fighting Fire with Fire: AI’s Role in Countering Disinformation, will be held at the Veritas, 4F Ateneo Professional Schools, Rockwell, Makati City, and live-streamed via YouTube on 24 November 2025, Monday, at 10:00 AM.

Join us for an engaging discussion on the dual role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the Philippines – as both a catalyst for disinformation and a powerful tool to combat it. The discussion will highlight how responsible AI governance and collaboration can help safeguard democracy and uphold the integrity of public discourse.

After the lecture, there will be an exchange of ideas with the following panel of reactors:

·         Atty Jam Jacob, Director of the Univ Data Protection Office, Ateneo de Manila

·         Dr Dominic Ligot, Data Scientist and Founder of CirroLytix, Champion of Ethical AI and Data Transparency

·         Ms Gemma Mendoza, Head of Digital Strategy and Innovation at Rappler

This event is free; however, for those attending onsite, pre-registration is required through:
