The Literary and Cultural Studies Program at the Ateneo de Manila University, in partnership with the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), invites the public to the 5th Edel Garcellano Conference.
This year’s theme, "Committed Writing Now," honors the legacy of critic and writer Edel Garcellano. The conference gathers scholars, writers, and cultural workers to interrogate the evolving definitions, risks, and contradictions of political commitment in literature today.
- Keynote Speaker: Faye Cura (Poet, Editor, and publisher of Gantala Press)
- Special Poetry Readings: Pete Lacaba and National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Ricky Lee
- Panel Discussions: Featuring scholars and writers from UP, PUP, and Ateneo discussing pedagogy, criticism, and creative production.
