Special Lecture on the K-Initiative and Why it Matters to the Philippines by Former Ambassador Han Dong-man

The Ateneo community and the public are invited to a special lecture by Former Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Philippines Han Dong-man on the K-Initiative and its implications on Korea-Philippines relations.
Join the Korean Studies Program on Friday, 13 February 2026, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ben Chan ArtSuite, Areté, as Ambassador Han discusses Korea’s comprehensive national strategy that goes beyond the global promotion of Hallyu. His lecture will highlight the K-Initiative’s potential to support the Philippines’ development goals by aligning Korean expertise with local needs and priorities.
Through this lecture, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how Korea is increasingly focusing on cooperation in areas such as AI, military technology, digital transformation, green growth, public governance and people-to-people exchanges.
This event is co-organized by the Rosita G. Leong School of Social Sciences and the King Sejong Institute Quezon City 2 – Ateneo de Manila University.
