ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Geloy Concepcion is a Filipino photographer born and raised in Pandacan, Manila and currently based in the US. With a practice ranging from photography and videography to street art, he explores his surroundings and roots, with a particular interest in documenting people and their stories. Prior to moving to the US, he worked as a professional photographer for various magazines and news agencies, and is currently doing freelance assignments.

Gang Badoy Capati is presently a Neuroscience Clinical Research Fellow in alliance with Boston's Trauma Research Foundation. She trained as a mental health therapist for more than a decade inside the Maximum Security Prison in Muntinlupa. She was first assigned to serve the inmate population who were moved into reclusion perpetua from death row. Badoy Capati founded Rock Ed Philippines in 2005, an NGO initially focused on an aggressive volunteerism campaign guided by the MDGs in its first ten years, and for the latter half switched its focus on mental health initiatives. She is now the lead Trauma Therapist of Project: Steady Asia (PSA) a mental health clinic for C-Suite executives and high achievers with mental health challenges. She assists in tandem care partnership under the clinical supervision of psychiatrists from Makati Medical Center, MetroPsych Facility, and Asian Hospital who focus, too, on trauma.
