POPULARIZING EUROPE IN THE PHILIPPINES (2020 TO PRESENT)
Background
This project was awarded a grant in 2020, with reference number 619942-EPP-1-2020-1-PH-EPPJMO-PROJECT. It aims to expand awareness and understanding of the nature and dynamics of the European Union in the Philippines. The regional bloc is increasingly significant in the country, because it is one of its investments, trade agreements, and development aid contributions.
Activities and Main Outputs
1. Formulate a module that can be delivered to government, NGO representatives, and media professionals to help them understand the EU better.
2. Create a lesson plan that can be used by secondary school teachers teaching Social Studies subjects to deliver lessons on the European Union. The content will be disseminated through a workshop for secondary school teachers. A lesson plan would be particularly useful, since there are secondary school subjects that are required to teach about Europe and the EU, and no standard lesson plan exists for it.
3. Launch a free mobile application that will teach young Filipinos in both primary and secondary levels of education about the basics of what Europe and the EU are in Filipino.
