Body

Launched in 1998, the Ateneo European Studies Program is one of the long-running outcomes of a European Commission higher education project to promote awareness of the European Union in the Philippines and to develop a group of Filipino experts on EU affairs.

In teaching the European experience, the Program takes the interdisciplinary route. To this day, the Program continues to pool faculty with a wide range of expertise on Europe. It draws educators from various academic departments of the university, whose expertise include economics, international law, languages, political science, business, history and socio-anthropology. These faculty members draw from their extensive professional experience in international business management and diplomacy. The Program has also welcomed visiting lecturers from various universities and professional affiliations in Europe. Besides teaching and conducting research projects, Ateneo European Studies faculty frequently engage in speaking, training, and outreach outside the university.
