Water

Ateneo de Manila University recorded a total water consumption of 357,190 cubic meters for SY 2024–25 (June 2024–May 2025). This volume represents the inbound water supply sourced from Manila Water and treated water, covering the needs of academic facilities, student and staff use, and general campus operations. The Campus Facilities and Management Office (CFMO) is responsible for tracking, monitoring, and managing these systems to ensure efficiency and sustainability.

Volume of Water Used

Water usage peaked in SY 2023–24 at 359,037 m³, reflecting the post-pandemic return to full onsite activities, classrooms, and facility operations. By SY 2024–25, consumption dropped slightly to 357,190 m³, signaling a stabilization of water use while still meeting the same level of campus demand.

Rain Harvesting (m³)

Rainwater harvesting continues to be operational at the New Rizal Library and the Cervini Cafeteria. The collected rainwater is filtered and used to flush the toilets, further reducing the consumption of municipal water.

From June 2024 to September 2024, the University has harvested and re-used 1,542 m³ of rain water.

Water Potability

Water Potability 2023-2024

In FY 2023–2024, Ateneo de Manila University received seven water-related complaints, mostly on drinking fountain quality and safety. Six were found invalid, while the only valid case in March 2024 at the University Residence Halls was traced to new filters that required longer flushing and was resolved. This reflects the University’s commitment to ensuring safe and reliable drinking water.
