Undergraduate Student and other Department-level or School-level Guidelines

Guideline 2 – Ethics Guidelines for Undergraduate Student-Initiated Research

This Guideline clarifies the undergraduate research that is reviewed at the Department level. It presents recommendations for ethical and minimal risk research protocols and indicates the Department-level procedures.

Guideline 3 – Forming Department- or School-level Ethics Review Committee

This Guideline sets the purpose, scope, and parameters for Department-level or School-level ethics review procedures (needed for undergraduate student research; see Guideline 2).

Guideline 4 – Ethics Guidelines for Faculty-Initiated Class Activities or Requirements That Involve Human Interactions or Data Collection

This Guideline presents ethical recommendations for class instructors who are designing and requiring class assignments or activities that involve human interactions (within and outside the classroom). The faculty instructor has oversight over these course activities and is responsible for ensuring that essential ethical practices are maintained, particularly: mininal risk, voluntary participation, informed consent, and maintenance of data privacy.
