The Chinese Studies Program offers non-degree language, culture, and professional courses on a regular basis.

Specialized Training Programs

The Chinese Studies Program offers training programs catered to the special needs of the community.

 

Non-credit courses for interested and like-minded individuals are for a time duration of 24 hours for a language course.  A certificate of completion is given to eligible participants at the end of the class module.

 

Policy for Non-Credit Courses and Trainings

Registration and Payment

  1. Non-credit courses are generally open to the public.
  2. Registration is on a per-course basis. Watch out for official announcements, as updated in our website for latest and upcoming non-credit courses and trainings.
  3. Officially registered students are issued an official receipt (OR) by the University cashier.
  4. Only students who have paid the tuition fee are allowed to be in class.
  5. Payment made may be assigned/transferred to another person provided classes have not yet started. In such a case, an authorization letter from the student is required.

Dissolution and Cancellation of Courses/Classes

  1. The Chinese Studies Program reserves the right to dissolve or postpone the schedule of a course. In case of dissolution or postponement, students will be given an option to move to another course, wait for the next run of the course, or refund 100% of their payment.
  2. Cancellation of a class may be caused by acts of God, government decree, or CSP declaration. Classes cancelled on occasion of acts of God or government decree shall not have the effect of extending the run/cycle of CSP courses.

 Certificate of Completion

  1. Attendance and punctuality are important pre-requisites to receiving a certificate at the end of the class module.
  2. At the end of the course, Students who have attended at least 70 percent of the class sessions are eligible to get a certificate of completion.

Refund

  1. A student may withdraw or drop an enrolled course at any time by submitting a letter/request stating the course to be withdrawn/dropped and the reason/s for the same. If made prior to the start of the first day of classes, students are entitled to refund of 50% of the fee paid. No refund shall be made to students whose requests are received by the CSP after classes shall have started.
  2. Students are entitled to a full refund of the fee paid in the event of dissolution or postponement of a scheduled course. See policy on Dissolution and Cancellation of Courses/Classes.
  3. Processing of refunds takes an average of two weeks.

Miscellaneous

  1. Make-up classes. No make-up class will be given for student absences from any scheduled session.
  2. Credit of payment for future class module. A student with a valid reason for postponing his/her class may request in writing to the Chinese Studies Program for the application of the payment to a course in the following class module offerings.
  3. Discount.  Ateneo de Manila University faculty and staff, as well as Jesuit Scholastics, may avail of a 30% discount for all CSP courses and training programs.
  4. Parking Guidelines. Drivers of the vehicle without the current ADMU gate pass stickers entering the University must surrender a Driver’s License upon entering the university premises.  Security guards have the authority to confirm identity of the people entering the University premises.  Parking is allowed only at designated areas. It is strictly prohibited to park on main roads, driveways, sidewalks, path walks and loading zones.

Evaluation of the Program

The CSP secretariat will distribute evaluation forms to all participants at the end of the class module session.  An honest appraisal of the class and teacher by each student is important to the improvement of the Chinese Studies Program. By enrolling in the course, students are understood to have consented to (i) the conduct by the CSP of the evaluation and (ii) the processing of data for the purposes stated herein.
