On Tuesday, September 1, Rappler editor-at-large Marites Vitug speaks to Ateneo School of Government Dean Ronald Mendoza on lessons learned from crony capitalism under Marcos, as events now are reminiscent of the situation then. Mendoza wrote the foreword to the reissued edition of Some Are Smarter Than Others, the landmark work of Ricardo Manapat that chronicles the structure that enabled plunder and corruption during the Marcos dictatorship.
