Ateneo Senior High School student-athlete Hannah Belarmino (12-Ogilvie) demonstrated her mastery of the blade at the Wilson Epee Invitationals, held on 22 February 2026 at the Wilson Fencing Hall in San Juan City. Competing in the highly competitive Individual Epee Women’s Open category, Belarmino secured the Silver medal after a series of challenging bouts against top-tier fencers from various accredited fencing clubs across the Philippines.
The Wilson Epee Invitationals are a specialized tournament known for bringing together seasoned practitioners and rising stars to focus exclusively on the epee, a weapon that demands exceptional patience, timing, and precision. By competing in the Open category, Belarmino faced a diverse field of opponents, proving her ability to hold her own against both high school peers and veteran club fencers. This podium finish serves as a testament to her technical growth and competitive spirit within the national fencing circuit.
Belarmino’s success was guided by the expert mentorship of Ateneo’s epee coach, Alexander Ragot. Her performance at the Wilson Fencing Hall further solidifies the Ateneo Fencing Team’s reputation for excellence across all weapons disciplines. The school community celebrates Hannah’s achievement as she continues to represent the Blue and White with distinction on the strip.
