Ateneo Policy Center welcomes new Non-Resident Senior Research Fellows

The Ateneo Policy Center, Ateneo School of Government’s public policy think tank, is pleased to announce the appointment of its two new non-resident senior research fellows.

 

Dr. Jesus Felipe is Advisor to the Chief Economist, in the Economic Research and Regional Cooperation Department of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Manila, Philippines, where he has worked since 1996. He has held academic positions with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Hong Kong, PRC) during 1995-1996, and with the Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, USA), during 1999-2002. He undertook undergraduate studies in Spain at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. He holds M.A. degrees from the International University of Japan and from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. In 2015, he became Managing Editor of the Asian Development Review. Also, he has been a member of the Editorial Board of Metroeconomica since 2008.

His research interests spread across areas such as long-run growth in Asia (especially the debate on the sources of growth), the dynamics of structural change, industrial policy, inclusive growth and full employment, the impact of technology on employment, productivity, technological progress, the functional distribution of income, business cycles, and the path of profit rates. He has published over 80 research articles in (among others) Applied Economics, Cambridge Journal of Economics, Eastern Economic Journal, Economics of Education Review, International Review of Applied Economics, Japan and the World Economy, Journal of Comparative Economics, Journal of Development Studies, Journal of Income Distribution, Journal of the Japanese and International Economies, Journal of Post Keynesian Economics, Metroeconomica, Oxford Development Studies, Structural Change and Economic Dynamics, and World Development.

Dr. Kenneth Hartigan-Go is an Adjunct Faculty at the Asian Institute of Management. He was Philippine Department of Health Undersecretary (2015-2016); Director General of Food and Drugs Administration (October 2012- October 2014); Deputy Director Bureau of Food and Drugs (1999-2001).  He was the founding Executive Director of the Zuellig Foundation from 2001 to 2009. He was faculty of the UP College of Medicine (1990-2006), Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health (until 2010) and AIM (2010-2015; 2017-2020, as School Head Zuellig School of Development Management).
 
He holds Doctor of Medicine degrees from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine (1985), and from Newcastle University UK (1998, Clinical Pharmacology). He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh), a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, Honorary Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore and Honorary Fellow of the Singapore College of Physician since 2017 and the President Philippine College of Physicians (2017-2018).
