Thanks in part to Miguel and Koko’s award-winning performances, TIMO-Philippines ranked Ateneo de Manila as the 2nd Most Outstanding School in the country out of 409 schools that participated in the TIMO Heat Round. Ateneo de Manila Basic Education mathletes harvested a total of nine golds, six silvers and four bronzes in the competition.

They are among the Philippine math wizards who hauled a total of 212 gold awards, 401 silver awards, and 702 bronze awards in the TIMO Philippines Heat Round.

The TIMO is an annual international competition jointly organized by Olympiad Champion Education Centre (OCEC) from Hong Kong and the Thailand Mathematics Society. It is a platform to stimulate and foster young people’s interest in learning mathematics, strengthen their creative thinking, and promote the development of primary and secondary education. TIMO also widens the international perspective of participants, promoting the exchange of educational cultures throughout countries/regions. This year, the TIMO committee members invited 14 regions / countries such as Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Ukraine, Philippines, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Taiwan, Vietnam, Myanmar and Cambodia to participate. All TIMO heat round medalists are invited to join the TIMO Finals, which will be held online on April 2 – 3, 2022.
