R-Jahn and John Paul’s awards were among the 32 silvers harvested by Filipino mathletes at the competition, which attracted participants from India, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, South Korea, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam. The 172-member Philippine math team also bagged 28 golds and 51 bronzes, topping host country Thailand’s haul of 18 golds, 27 silvers, and 47 bronzes.

IMOYA aims to strengthen the mathematical intuition and computational skills of participants. It also promotes cross-cultural interaction and espouses camaraderie, understanding, and respect for diversity.
