Mateo Beley is Most Outstanding 11U Novice Swimmer

Ateneo de Manila Grade School swimmer Mateo Beley (5-Maguindanao) won three golds (butterfly, freestyle, backstroke) and one silver (breaststroke) at the 32nd Valle Verde Country Club Novice Invitational Swim Meet. In addition, he was named Most Outstanding Swimmer in the Boys 11U category. His medal haul at the meet is all the more impressive in light of the fact that he was only 10 years old during the meet, but found himself competing against many 11-year-olds in his age division.
The well-attended competition was held at the Valle Verde Country Club in Pasig City on July 30, 2022, attracting around 200 swimmers from clubs and schools in the NCR and nearby provinces in the 11U age division alone. Per the rules of novice swim meets, participants swim 25 meters in their races.
Mateo is a member of the AGS varsity swim team.
