Ateneo is HS baseball champ of QC division meet

Consisting of players from Ateneo de Manila Junior High School and Senior High School, the Blue Eagles de Manila baseball team bested three other schools to emerge as high school champion of the Quezon City Baseball Division Meet. The tournament was held at Marist School in Marikina City on March 11-12, 2023.

From AJHS are Sky Apostol (Montserrat/10-Mangin), Nate Canonizado (Montserrat/10-Morse), Sean Cristobal (La Storta/10-Garnier), Enzo De Guzman (Cardoner/9-Berchmans), Ryu Garcia (Pamplona/10-Zuraire), and Janko Sevilla (Pamplona/9-Sitjar).

From ASHS are Javi Almoro (STEM/12-Navarro), Cid Aranzamendez (STEM/12-Pro), Jacob Laygo (GA/12-Evans), Ecko Macatuno (STEM/12-Walpole), Kiko Medina (ABM/ 12-Acquaviva), and Damian Nuestro (ABM/11-Brebeuf). 

They are coached by Pepe Jose, Emer Barandoc, and Jun Bonifacio.

The other schools that participated in the meet were Bagong Silangan High School, San Bartolome High School, and Ramon Magsaysay High School. In the deciding game, Ateneo beat Ramon Magsaysay, 8-5.  

As division champions, the Blue Eagles will represent Quezon City in the NCR Meet in April and have the opportunity to advance and represent NCR in Palarong Pambansa 2023.
