AJHS Blue Eagles are PRADA Midgets Basketball champs

Ateneo de Manila Junior High School is the Midgets division champion of the Private Schools Athletic Development Association (PRADA) Basketball Championship, after beating San Beda Alabang in the finals on March 11, 2023. The PRADA tournament was held in the Jacinto Tiu Gym of Xavier School San Juan during the weekends of February 4 to March 11, 2023. The other schools which participated in the championship were Lourdes School of Mandaluyong, Don Bosco Makati, Don Bosco Mandaluyong, La Salle Greenhills, and Xavier School. According to head coach PJ Navarro, the win marks the first time the Blue Eagles have won the PRADA Midgets basketball title in more than a decade. Back then, grade school students were the ones playing in the midgets division.      

The team’s members are Dos Adriano (La Storta/8-Delgado), JB David (Montserrat/8-Ireland), Migs Favis (Montserrat/8-Ireland), Riley Fernandez (La Storta/8-Del Castillo), Enzo Gallardo (Pamplona/8-Rubio), Pio Gonzales (Montserrat/8-Isore), Jhustin Hallare (La Storta/8-Delgado), Liam Macapagal (Pamplona/8-Regis), Miguel Meresen (Cardoner/7-Alonso), Andre Pineda (Montserrat/8-Ishida), Ram Ramos (Montserrat/8-Ishida), Gab Salvador (Montserrat/8-Ishida), Andrew Sanchez (Montserrat/8-Ireland), Jaime Teodoro (Cardoner/8-Aranha), and Gabo Yoro (Montserrat/7-Harcourt). The boys were coached by PJ Navarro (head coach) and Robert Aenlle (assistant coach).
