AGS Born 2011-2012 Football Team is QC Division Meet champion

Ateneo de Manila Grade School’s Football Varsity Born 2011-2012 team emerged as champion of the Palarong Pambansa Quezon City Division Meet on March 18, 2023, at FEU Diliman. The win secured Ateneo’s spot as Quezon City’s representative to the Palarong Pambansa NCR Meet, which is ongoing.

The Ateneo Born 2011-2012 team is composed of AGS students Sylar Alcantara (5-Bagobo), Sancho Aquino (6-Campion), Sancho Bautista (4-Lakandula), Chad Baviera (6-Realino), Aki Belza (6-Regis), Alejo Commeyne (5-Subanon), Francis Desabille (6-Bellarmine), Basti Driz (6-Berchmans), Lucas Escalante (6-Gonzaga), Anton Flameño (5-Ivatan), Chase Francisco (6-Miki), Zach Gan (6-Campion), Zach Go (6-Miki), Agu Hizon (6-Faber), Kite Kabatay (6-Gonzaga), Migo Malvar (6-Berchmans), Joaquin Mendoza (5-Dumagat), Kyle Molina (5-Yakan), Andres Sumpaico (6-Campion), Josef Tomas (6-Campion), Rocco Uy (5-Kalinga), Jaime Villanueva (6-Claver), and Bosco Virrey (5-Bagobo). They are coached by Sean Alli.

Prior to winning the QC Division Meet, the Blue Eagles competed against Claret School on January 31 & February 2, 2023. Ateneo won both games, thus earning the right to represent Quezon City’s private schools. Ateneo then competed in the Palarong Pambansa Dual Meet against Old Balara School on March 18. Our victory led the team to represent Quezon City in the NCR Meet.

The Blue Eagles even paid a courtesy call on Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte at City Hall on April 4, 2023. Mayor Belmonte and other City Hall officials wished the boys luck and pledged QC’s full support for the team in its quest for Palarong Pambansa glory.
