Born-2009 Blue Eagles are PAYA basketball champions

(LATE POST) Composed of Ateneo de Manila Junior High School players, the Ateneo Born-2009 basketball team emerged as champion of the 2022-2023 Philippine Athletic Youth Association (PAYA) Basketball Tournament on May 21, 2023.
Rostered in the team were Dos Adriano (9-Ireland), JB David (9-Ishida), Migs Favis (9-Ishida), Rich Fernandez (9-Harcourt), Enzo Gallardo (9-Mangin), Pio Gonzales (9-Kisai), Jhustin Hallare (8-Delgado in SY 2022-2023), Liam Macapagal (9-Lewis), Miguel Meresen (8-Chabanel), Andre Pineda (9-Isore), Ram Ramos (9-Isore), Gab Salvador (9-Isore), Andrew Sanchez (9-Ishida), Jaime Teodoro (9-Garate), and Gabo Yoro (8-Cottam). They were coached by PJ Navarro and Robert Aenlle.
The Blue Eagles bested teams from Claret School of Quezon City, Colegio San Agustin, De La Salle Santiago Zobel, La Salle Greenhills, and Xavier School San Juan in the tournament, which was held on weekends and holidays from March 20 to May 21, 2023, at Xavier School San Juan.
The very same team of Blue Eagles also won the PRADA midgets tournament on March 11, 2023, making the PAYA victory a back-to-back championship of sorts for the boys.
