It was created to determine the possible composition of the national pool of athletes that will compete internationally in tournaments such as the Southeast Asian Games, Asian Games, and the Olympics.
Batang Pinoy was held from December 17 to 22, 2023, across various sports venues in Metro Manila. It featured 25 sports, including kickboxing and breaking, which made their debuts. Close to 200 LGUs participated in Batang Pinoy 2023, with more than 15,000 young athletes competing for the 4811 medals at stake.
