AGS taekwondo jins harvest 114 medals in 6 competitions during SY 2023-2024

During School Year 2023-2024, the Ateneo de Manila Grade School taekwondo varsity jins harvested a total of 114 medals for kyorugi and poomsae in six local and national competitions. Of these medals, 28 were golds, 41 were silvers, and 45 were bronzes.

The tournaments joined were the Quezon City Age Group Taekwondo Championships, MAPAMASA (Marikina-Pasig-Mandaluyong-San Juan) XStreme Interschool Taekwondo Championships, MAPATA (Makati-Pasay-Taguig) Age Group Taekwondo Championships, the All Quezon City Age Group Taekwondo Championships, the Smart MVPSF Best of the Best Taekwondo Championships 2023, and the Smart MVPSF National Age Group Taekwondo Championships.

What follows are the details of each Blue Eagle’s medal haul.  

BLACK BELTS (4)

Cross Acal (6-Faber), Captain: 5 golds, 3 silvers, 4 bronzes

Renzo Nicomedes (5-Dumagat), Vice Captain: 3 golds, 1 silver, 1 bronze

Daryn Ferrer (4-Magat Salamat): 3 golds, 3 silvers

Teddy Oblea (5-Tausug): 1 gold, 1 silver, 5 bronzes

Matteo Lanot (5-Yakan): 2 golds, 2 silvers, 2 bronzes

Samuel Ngoho (6-Realino): 1 gold, 2 silvers, 1 bronze

Benj Tan (4-Dagohoy): 2 golds, 1 silver, 2 bronzes

Jude Poyaoan (1-Matipid): 1 gold, 6 silvers, 3 bronzes

2023 Quezon City Age Group Taekwondo Championships (27 August 2023 at Ateneo de Manila University in Quezon City)

MAPAMASA XStreme Interschool Taekwondo Championships (15 October 2023 at Xavier School in San Juan City)

2023 NCR-MAPATA (Makati-Pasay-Taguig) Age Group Taekwondo Championships (22 October 2023 at Philippine Air Force Gymnasium in Villamor Air Base, Pasay City)  

All Quezon City Taekwondo Championships (9 December 2023 at Amoranto Sports Complex in Quezon City)  

NATIONAL

Smart MVPSF Best of the Best Taekwondo Championships 2023 (2-3 September 2023 at Ayala Malls Manila Bay) 

Smart MVPSF National Age Group Taekwondo Championships (11-12 November 2023 at Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila)   

The Blue Eagles were coached for these tournaments by Joey Paja and Jason Locsin.
