AGS' Franco Del Pilar is Pre-Teen World Champion of Jiu Jitsu tournament held in Japan

Representing the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila Grade School student Franco Del Pilar (4-Sultan Kudarat) won the gold medal in the Male White Pre-Teen Feather division of the SJJIF (Sport Jiu Jitsu International Federation) World Jiu Jitsu Championship held at Aichi Budokan in Nagoya, Japan on 29 September 2024.
Franco bested 16 competitors to become World Champion of his division in the tournament, which attracted more than 4,000 Jiu Jitsu practitioners.
Thus far in 2024, Franco has won 17 gold medals and one bronze medal in multiple Jiu Jitsu tournaments in the Philippines (Manila, Pampanga, Cebu, Baguio), Singapore and Japan.
