Gonzales and Peneyra grab gold in MAPATA TKD tourney

Seven members of Ateneo de Manila Junior High School’s taekwondo varsity won two gold, two silver, and three bronze medals for Kyorugi in the recent MAPATA (Makati-Pasig-Taguig) Age Group Taekwondo Championship. Held on 12 October 2024 at the Rizal High School Gymnasium in Pasig City, the competition saw the Blue Eagles from various grade levels winning medals in a field of approximately 800 contestants.

Matthew Gonzales (7-Baldinucci): Gold, Blackbelt Cadet Male 164cm - 168cm
Marcus Peneyra (7-Alfonso): Gold, Novice Cadet Male 144cm - 148cm
Corwin Llarena (7-Balmain): Silver, Newly Promoted Yellow Belt Cadet Male 152cm - 160cm
Gerard Pardilla (10-Page): Silver, Blackbelt Jr Male Category Over 78kgs
Elvis Favila (7-Baldinucci): Bronze, Advance Cadet Male 148cm - 152cm
Richard Ronquillo (7-Ashley): Bronze, Novice Yellow-Blue Cadet Male 160cm - 164cm
Benjamin Mendez (10-Nagashima): Bronze, Advance Jr Male Category Over 78 kgs
The AJHS Blue Eagles were coached for the MAPATA tournament by Joey Paja and Jason Locsin.
