AGS 12U Blue Eagles are AAPS-QC basketball champs; Julian Baliwag is MVP

Ateneo de Manila Grade School’s basketball varsity emerged as the 12U champion of the 2024 Athletic Association of Private Schools (AAPS) Quezon City District Unit Meet. Rostered in the team were Julian Baliwag (6-Regis), RyRy De Guzman (6-Faber), Theo Del Mundo (6-Kostka), Jeric Espíritu (5-Mangyan), Ryley Floirendo (6-Campion), Julian German (6-Claver), Matteo Lanot (6-De Brito), Joaquin Luz (6-Hurtado), Eli Martires (5-Ifugao), Rossher Samson (6-De Brito), Noah Sardea (6-Berchmans), and Prince Torio (5-Subanon). In addition Julian Baliwag received the division’s MVP award, while Ryley Floirendo and Noah Sardea were both named Mythical 5 selections. Monroe Cueson was also recognized as the division’s Best Coach for his outstanding leadership.
Coached by Monroe Cueson (head) and Eric Guray (assistant), the Blue Eagles won all their games against five other school teams representing various districts in Quezon City. The games for the AAPS Quezon City District Unit Meet were played in Lourdes School of Quezon City and the RT Gonzales Covered Court in Novaliches, with the tournament concluding on 8 November 2024.
