Blue Eagles are QC Division Meet 12U Basketball Champs; Baliwag is MVP and Best Center

Ateneo de Manila’s 12U Basketball Varsity emerged as the 12U Champion of the 2024 Quezon City Division Meet on 14 December 2024. The members of the team are Julian Baliwag (6-Regis), RyRy De Guzman (6-Faber), Theo Del Mundo (6-Kostka), Jeric Espíritu (5-Mangyan), Ryley Floirendo (6-Campion), Julian German (6-Claver), Matteo Lanot (6-De Brito), Joaquin Luz (6-Hurtado), Eli Martires (5-Ifugao), Rossher Samson (6-De Brito), Noah Sardea (6-Berchmans), and Prince Torio (5-Subanon). They were led by head coach Monroe Cueson and assistant coach Eric Guray. 

Ateneo's 12U Basketball Varsity is QC Division Meet Champion

Three of the Blue Eagles were also honored with individual achievement awards. Julian Baliwag won the division’s MVP and Best Center awards, while Ryley Floirendo received the Best Power Forward award and Noah Sardea, the Best Three-Point Shooter award.

Individual awardees

The 12U Blue Eagles won all of their elimination games against school teams from various districts in Quezon City, giving them a twice-to-beat advantage in the finals. The games for the Quezon City Division Unit Meet were played in Old Balara and Bago Bantay Elementary School in Quezon City.

After their victory, the Blue Eagles even got to meet Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte and other QC officials at a courtesy call in City Hall on 6 January 2025.

Ateneo 12U will represent Quezon City in the upcoming regional meet in hopes of earning the right to represent NCR in Palarong Pambasa 2025.
