Ateneo/QC is NCR Palaro baseball meet champion; 4 receive indiv'l awards

A huge congratulations to Team Ateneo/Quezon City! After five heart-stopping games and 20-25 electrifying innings, you did it! Every single moment was a battle, but you all played with heart, soul, and relentless determination.

Composed of players from Ateneo de Manila Junior High School (AJHS) and Senior High School (ASHS), the Ateneo de Manila High School/Quezon City baseball team emerged as Champion of the recently-concluded NCR Palaro Baseball Meet 2025. In addition, four Blue Eagles won special awards following the regional meet’s conclusion:

MVP: Ryu Garcia (12-Beyzym)
Best Pitcher: Enzo De Guzman (11-Bellarmino)
Best Catcher: Janko Sevilla (11-Campion)
Breakthrough Player: Sancho Afuang (9-Gelabert) 

Rostered in the team are Sancho Afuang, Raffy Blaza (10-Pignatelli), Miguel Cruzat (9-Gelabert), Ethan Galvez (10-Rubio), and Tommy Oblea (9-Harcourt) from AJHS; and Sky Apostol (12-Carvalho), Sean Cristobal (12-Anchieta), Enzo De Guzman, Ryu Garcia, Mio Salazar (12-Acquaviva), Janko Sevilla, and Mio Silva (11-Angelis) from ASHS. They are coached by Pepe Jose (head), Emer Barandoc (asst), and Jun Bonifacio (asst). 

The Ateneo/Quezon City baseball team demonstrated strong performance in the tournament held from 17 to 21 March 2025 at the UP Diliman Baseball Field in Quezon City. Team QC secured victories against teams from Pasig, Marikina, Manila, and Muntinlupa, with only one loss against Mandaluyong. As the regional champion, Team Quezon City will proudly represent the National Capital Region (NCR) at Palarong Pambansa 2025, scheduled to take place from 24 May to 2 June 2025 in Laoag, Ilocos Norte.
