Ateneo is Midgets Champ of 2025 PRADA Badminton Tourney

From September 2024 to March 2025, the AGS-AJHS badminton team had a successful year on the court, bringing home multiple medals and podium finishes across various tournaments. From making history at the first-ever Xavier Badminton Cup to earning top spots in prestigious leagues like PAYA and PRADA, the Blue Eagles showcased skill, determination and sportsmanship throughout the season.

Composed of players from AGS and AJHS, the team’s members are Max Babst (8-Favre), Jared Ong (7-Arrowsmith), Noah Callanta (5-Kamagong), Acz Clutario (5-Bagobo), Clei Cross Marquez (4-Agustin Sumuroy), and David Callanta (2-Kamagong). They are coached by Kennie Asuncion, Kristina Tan, Craig Garcia, and Tyke Arias. 

Here is the team's achievement report for SY 2024-2025:

22 September 2024: SILVER 

The Ateneo Grade School Badminton Team made history by securing Silver in the first-ever Xavier Badminton Cup held on 22 September 2024 at Xavier School San Juan.

7 November 2024: SILVER

Acz Clutario (5-Bagobo) & David Callanta (2-Kamagong) earned Silver in Boys’ Doubles at the Athletic Association of Private Schools (AAPS) Quezon City Meet held on 7 November 2024 at Centro Athletico in Quezon City.

2 March 2025: SILVER

The Ateneo Grade School team finished as Boys' Midgets division 1st Runner-Up in the Philippine Athletic Youth Association (PAYA) Tournament held on 2 March 2025 at Xavier School in San Juan.

9 March 2025: GOLD

The Ateneo Grade School claimed the Boys' Midgets Division Championship in the Private Schools Athletic Development Association (PRADA) tournament on 9 March 2025 at Xavier School in San Juan.

22 March 2025: SILVER

Capping off the list of tournaments this school year, the Ateneo Grade School Badminton team played in the Middle School Division of the International School Manila (ISM) Boys' Open Schools Badminton Tournament and won Silver. The championship was held on 22 March 2025 at the ISM Campus in Taguig City.
