Thad Manuel helps QC Win Team Silver in NCR Palaro Chess Meet

Representing Quezon City, Ateneo de Manila Grade School (AGS) chess wizard Thad Manuel (6-Miki) and his partner Runhigh Instrella from Kaligayahan Elementary School won the NCR Palaro Chess Meet’s team silver award in the Elementary Boys category in March 2025.
Over four days of intense chess matches against top grade school players from 16 cities across the National Capital Region (NCR), Thad achieved an impressive 5th overall ranking out of 32 players. The silver medal awarded to him and Runhigh for Quezon City was based on the combined sum of their individual scores during the regional competition.
The Quezon City chess team was under the guidance of coach WNM Joann Toledo-Datu for the NCR Palaro Chess Meet, which was held from 17-20 March 2025 at the Schools Division Office (SDO) in Las Piñas Elementary School Central.
