Ateneo’s Aiden Lazaro helps NCR capture 2025 Palarong Pambansa elementary baseball crown

Congratulations to the National Capital Region (NCR) Metro Stars baseball team for emerging as champions in the Elementary Division of the 2025 Palarong Pambansa on 30 May 2025 in Ilocos Norte!

Out of 20 competitive teams from across the Philippine archipelago, only eight advanced to the quarterfinals, and just four made it to the semifinals. In a thrilling and hard-fought final against defending champion Western Visayas, the NCR Metro Stars— composed primarily of student-athletes from Muntinlupa City— clinched the gold and proudly brought home the championship title. This victory is a remarkable milestone for the entire NCR region!

Ateneo de Manila Grade School (AGS) extends a special shoutout to our very own Aiden Lazaro (6-Miki), a recent graduate and the sole representative from Ateneo de Manila and Quezon City on the team. Aiden played with heart, discipline, and determination, making significant contributions to the team’s success and representing our school community with excellence and pride.

The local government of Quezon City also recognized Aiden’s achievement on social media, posting on its official Facebook and Instagram accounts:

“Isang mainit na pagbati sa Baseball–Elementary team ng National Capital Region na itinanghal na kampeon sa #PalarongPambansa2025. Bahagi ng koponan si Aiden Lazaro na nagmula sa Ateneo de Manila University.”

The elementary baseball championship was one of 117 gold medals earned by Team NCR, which secured its 18th consecutive overall championship at the 2025 Palarong Pambansa. NCR’s impressive medal haul also included 70 silver and 50 bronze medals.
