Ateneo de Manila to host FIBA Women’s Asia Cup 2025 Trophy Tour stop at Blue Eagle Gym

Ateneo de Manila University, in partnership with the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP), is honored to host a special stop of the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup 2025 Trophy Tour at the Blue Eagle Gym on Wednesday, 18 June 18 2025 at 3:00 PM.

This event celebrates the recent achievement of the Gilas Pilipinas Women’s National Basketball Team, which has successfully qualified for Division A of the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup 2025, to be held from 13 to 20 July 2025 in Shenzhen, China. The tournament will bring together Asia’s best teams, with the top six earning spots in the qualifying rounds of the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.

The Trophy Tour stop at Ateneo is part of FIBA’s broader initiative to raise awareness and support for women’s basketball across Asia. In attendance will be Mr Mageshwaran Saba, FIBA Asia Communications Manager, along with SBP Executive Director, former Assistant Athletic Director Operations, and alumna of Ateneo de Manila, Erika Dy,  staff, and athletes from the Gilas Women’s National Team.

As part of the celebration, the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup 2025 Trophy will be on public display in front of the Blue Eagle Gym. The Ateneo Women’s Basketball Team will be present in a show of support and solidarity for women in sport.
