ASHS faculty Jok Cobar joins NRCP as Associate Member, earns Biomechanics Specialist certification

Mr Alvin George C Cobar (fondly known as Coach Jok), faculty member of the Ateneo de Manila Senior High School (ASHS) Physical Education Subject Area, was recently inducted as an Associate Member of the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP).

Coach Jok was officially elected on 29 July 2025 during the NRCP Governing Board Meeting (Resolution No. 2025-60). This prestigious recognition is conferred on scientists who demonstrate significant research productivity, marked by an h-index of at least 4. This means that at least four of his scholarly works have each been cited four or more times, both nationally and internationally, a commendable testament to the impact of his work.

This milestone is a reflection of his unwavering dedication to research and his commitment to advancing Physical Education and Sports Science in the Philippines through academic excellence and leadership.

In addition, Mr Cobar was certified as a Biomechanics Specialist by the National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association (NESTA), USA on 30 May 2025—further strengthening his expertise in the field.
