Representing the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila Junior High School student athlete Juliana Miranda (7-Ashley) brought pride to her country by winning two medals at Skate Manila 2025, which was held from 8-10 June 2025 at the SM Mall of Asia Skating Rink.
Juliana competed in two figure skating events, earning a silver medal in the Pre-Alpha Solo Compulsory and a bronze medal in the Solo Program.
In the Pre-Alpha Solo Compulsory event, Juliana executed three required maneuvers—right one-foot glide, forward swizzles, and backward swizzles—with control and precision. This event highlights technical basics and focuses on quality execution, making her silver medal a testament to her solid technique and discipline.
In the Solo Program, Juliana showed stage presence while performing all the required elements in a one-minute program. This event emphasizes technical difficulty, but may include some artistry and musicality, and her bronze medal reflects both her creativity and confidence on the ice.
Skate Manila 2025 brought together over 160 skaters from the USA, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines in a vibrant celebration of young talent. The event showcased heartfelt performances and spirited competition across all levels, serving as a fun and inclusive platform to inspire and nurture the next generation of skating champions. It was part of the Ice Skating Institute (ISI) Asia Championship Series, which promotes grassroots and recreational figure skating for skaters of all levels—from beginners to advanced competitors.
