Grade 3 Blue Eagle David Callanta wins bronze at nat’l badminton tourney

David Callanta (3-Pulog), a member of the Ateneo de Manila Grade School badminton varsity team, won the bronze medal in the Under-11 Boys Category of the 2025 Yonex-Sunrise-NAS Junior National & International Friendship Games. David's event was held on 25 August 2025 at the National Academy of Sports (NAS) Badminton Courts in New Clark City, Tarlac. He was also honored as the youngest player to compete in this prestigious national event.

Held from 21-31 August 2025, the tournament was a collaboration between Yonex-Sunrise, the Philippine Badminton Association, and the MVP Sports Foundation, bringing together the best young athletes from across the country. It featured five age-group divisions: Under-11, Under-13, Under-15, Under-17, and Under-19. The initiative aimed to give young Filipino athletes a platform for high-level competition and to promote international friendship through sports.
