Grade 3 Blue Eagle Gael Abacan wins at national tennis tournament

Ateneo de Manila Grade School (AGS) Blue Eagle Gael Abacan (3-Taal) emerged victorious in a national tennis tournament last weekend. He and his partner (from another school) captured the 10-and-under (10U) doubles title at the Dr Pablo Olivarez National Junior Tennis Championships, held from 7-11 and 14-18 August 2025 at the Olivarez Sports Center Tennis Courts in Parañaque City.
The tournament featured nine age categories for singles and five divisions for doubles, with the 10U category being unisex for both formats. The 10U division serves as a key entry point for young athletes into national-level competition, helping them gain experience, build confidence, and develop momentum for higher age groups.
Gael is a member of the AGS varsity team and the son of Gee Abacan, coach of the Ateneo de Manila JHS and SHS Lawn Tennis Varsity squads.
